This Year Resolve To Use Recycle Bags

The New Year is upon us and like all those years before it is time to establish some New Year resolutions. One resolution that is not only easy to stick with but also “green” in nature is to ban plastic bags from your life and embrace the reusable grocery bag movement.

Plastic sacks are consuming the world’s landfills at an alarming rate. Made of polyethylene (a petroleum product), plastic bags contribute to energy consumption and air pollution. Factor that little fact with the 100 billion bags consumers in America throw away each year and the results are devastating.

Each year, more than 1 billion seabirds succumb to injuries sustained from ingesting plastic sacks. In addition, more than 100,000marine mammals accidentally consume plastic bags each year resulting in their death. To make matters worse, of the billions of bags used each year, just 1 percent are actually recycled.

The good news is that with a little effort on the consumer’s part, we can cut down plastic bag consumption significantly by using reusable green bags instead. Most bags range between $1 and $5 a piece. Entire reusable shopping bag systems can be purchased for $35 to $65.

Recycle bags are not only easy to incorporate into your shopping routine, but they are also helpful for everyday tasks. For example, if you keep a bag tucked into your purse, you can pull it out for odd jobs such as cleaning out the random items that migrate into your car (hats, blankets, coats, etc.). Mesh recycle bags can be used for stowing away stinky gym clothes. The mesh material allows wet clothing to air out instead of nurturing mildew on clothes.

Many reusable bags are also washable. You need only throw them in the wash and let them air dry for a clean, fresh bag.

This year, resolve to be eco-friendly, buy a set of reusable bags today and do your part to save the environment.

Reusable Grocery Bags – The Perfect Gift Idea For the Man In Your Life

Making the switch to reusable grocery bags is growing green trend in the United States and around the world. At iTySE, we designed a stylish handbag that not only serves as a purse, but also holds several reusable bags. This ensures you never forget your bags when you go to the store.

The concept of the iTySE handbag is perfect, if you are a woman. At iTySE, we know that it is just as important for the male population to utilize a green bag shopping system. For this reason, we also designed the iTySE BiTySE. This nifty little carrying case is far less feminine than our handbag. It can carry several mesh reusable bags and ripstop bags in one small package.

While some women like to attach the iTySE BiTySE to their handbags with the complimentary clip it comes with, it is also a perfect green accessory for the male population.

The BiTySE comes in a variety of colors, but we have found the black and khaki pacs to be our best sellers for men. As Christmas time nears, we are excited to suggest the iTySE BiTySE as a trendy gift or stocking stuffer for the man in your life.

The BiTySE shopping system is perfect for any male who does a lot of shopping at the grocery store or retail shops. It can be stored in a car or truck, making it handy for unexpected trips to the grocery store on the way home from work.

Lastly, it has never been a better time to buy a BiTySE. One pac is affordable at less than $35. In addition, iTySE is offering free holiday shipping that not only saves you money, but helps you do so while saving the planet with style.

Order your iTySE BiTySE today, Christmas is almost here!

iTySE BiTySE Perfect For Stocking Stuffers

Looking to change the world one small step at a time? iTySE recently launched its latest reusable grocery bag in it’s simplest form yet — the BiTySE. The traditional iTySE mesh bag combines with a self-attached duffel that contains the reusable bag when it’s not in use.

The BiTySE is small and simple, making it a perfect fit for Christmas stockings. The gift itself is also environmentally friendly and encourages the loved ones in your life to rid the world of plastic bags by utilizing reusable grocery bags.

Along with shopping, the BiTySE can be used for an assortment of tasks by just about anyone in the family. It is small enough to tuck inside a purse and masculine enough for your husband to actually use it. The bag can be used as a convenient gym bag to carry those sweaty clothes home. The mesh fabric allows the clothes to breath and cuts down on potential growth of mold and other bacteria often associated with the gym.

Some of our customers keep an BiTySE in their car for those days they want to clean everything out of it. You can stuff old mail, clothes, coffee mugs, etc., into the BiTySE and easily carry it all into the house in once simple trip.

The BiTySE is also being used by businesses as corporate gifts. They can be branded and handed out to corporate vendors, employees, and other known associates as a thoughtful gift that spreads the brand message while saving the planet with style. They are also great for fundraisers and groups who need an easily accessible bag such as sports teams, dance teams, and cheerleaders.

Lastly, the BiTySE is very affordable at just $12.95. This high-quality reusable bag is made to last and is machine washable.

Retailers Offer Cash Savings for the Use of Recycle Bags

Two of the nation’s largest retailers recently kicked off cash saving incentive programs designed to encourage consumers to use recycle bags. Both Target and CVS founded programs they hope will have their customers thinking twice about using plastic sacks or disposable bags.

CVS is offering its CVS ExtraCare rewards program members a higher discount if they bring recycle bags when shopping at their stores. Members of the program can purchase a 99-cent tag to receive their discount. The leaf-shaped “Green Bag Tag” comes with a clip to attach it to their recycle bags. Then, as the customer is checking out, the tag is scanned. Once a customer has made four shopping trips they earn a $1 coupon that is printed on the receipt of their fourth transaction. The program began in November.

Earlier in the year, Target started a separate pilot program in 100 of its stores. Whenever a customer uses their recycle bags, they receive a 5-cent discount at the register. The company reported a 58 percent decrease in plastic bag use at the stores that hosted the pilot program. In November, Target launched the incentive program nationwide. Currently more than 1,700 stores offer the 5-cent discount.

Both programs relate to recent legislation in Florida and California that seeks to ban the use of plastic and paper bags at retail stores. As the Green Movement continues to gain momentum, experts predict the use of recycle bags in lieu of plastic disposable bags will increase across the nation. In recent years, the general population has become more consciousness of plastic and its long-term effect on the planet. Overall, plastic recycling has made a steady increase. However, only about 27 percent of all recyclables are estimated to be plastic. The banning of plastic disposable bags is considered a more effective way of cutting down on the use of plastic.
Recycle Bags: The Next Generation of Corporate Presents

In the world of corporate presents, the ideas are many. Most corporations offer their thanks during the holidays in the form of branded, corporate presents that range from candy bars to engraved golf tool sets. Essentially, if it can be engraved or branded, it can be given as a corporate gift.

This year, as many struggle to make ends meet, corporations are taking a second look at what their gifts really mean. It is no longer considered acceptable to spend money on meaningless corporate presents that are often set aside to catch dust.

Instead, the new movement in corporate gift giving has shifted to be more environmentally friendly and more relevant to recipients. According to the National Business Association, companies should utilize a gift to make their clients or vendors feel good. This is why many corporations are considering “green” products, such as recycle bags, as presents this holiday season. Recycle bags are an excellent way to discourage the use of plastic disposable bags when shopping. The bags come in various shapes and sizes and can essentially be designed to fit the needs of any company. From single bags contained in an attached satchel to large shopping systems that hold upwards of 5 recycle bags or more, the opportunities are endless. In addition, green bags are easily branded, allowing corporations to maintain the tradition of marketing via corporate presents.

Several reusable bag makers, including iTySE, offer corporate presents at an affordable price. For a small fee, recycle bags can be branded. Corporations that buy in bulk can often negotiate a less expensive rate when purchasing the bags. This not only saves money, but also provides the gift recipient with an easy way to “go green.” The end result of giving the gift of recycle bags is a happy client and a healthier planet.

Call Ityse now for your corporate gift.

Give the Gift of Recycle Bags

This year, give your loved one's the gift of recycle bags. This time of year, we all face the same dilemma – what special presents will I come up with this year? At iTySE, we understand how hard it is to shop for others. The good news is we have a solution!

Reusable bags are truly the gift that keeps on giving, and are perfect for just about everyone. We have a line of stylish iTySE purses designed with special pockets in the interior lining that allow you to stow away your mesh recycle bags. This way, you always have your reusable bags with you and can still maintain your personal style by choosing from one of our many fabrics.

For the men in your life, consider an iTySE BiTySE. These little carriers can hold several mesh and rip-stop recycle bags. The BiTySE lives best in a car where it is easily accessible during shopping outings.

Does your special someone already have an iTySE shopping system? We sell extra black mesh bags and rip-stop bags for $5.95. Trust us … you can never have too many reusable bags on hand.

Recycle bags aren’t just universal in terms of recipients. They also promote a greener, healthier lifestyle that everyone can appreciate. By giving your friend or loved ones an iTySE, you are providing them with an easy way to go green. With very little effort, the recipient of your gift is now a part of the green movement by reducing the amount of plastic bags that populate the world’s landfills each year.

Walmart Postpones Recycle Bags Trial

In a recent announcement, Walmart Stores Inc. said it has decided to postpone its recycle bags trial that entailed removing free plastic bags from two of its California-based locations. The two stores, located in Citrus Heights and Folsom, previously announced plans that required consumers to utilize recycle bags. Shoppers could either bring their own bags or buy bags for 15 cents a piece. The shopping centers, along with a third store in Ukiah, are part of a test program designed to encourage shoppers to kick the plastic bag habit. Walmart has implemented several strategies designed to cut down on plastic bag consumption.

According to Walmart spokesperson Amelia Neufeld, the overall objective is to cut down the chain’s plastic bag waste by 33 percent. The deadline for this goal is 2013. Neufeld also said the company pulled the recycle bags trial because it believes launching the program during the holiday shopping season would produce irregular test results. “The goal of this test is to gauge customer reaction. We think we'll get a more accurate reaction by offering these bags after the holidays,” Neufeld said.

There is currently no estimated date for when Walmart plans to launch the now delayed trial. Currently, the stores continue to offer alternative 15-cent recycle bags. The bags are royal blue and made of a lightweight, recyclable polypropylene fabric. In addition, Walmart is looking into other methods of cutting down on plastic bag use, some of which do not includ eliminating the plastic bags from the store. “Wal-Mart is also evaluating other strategies for reducing plastic waste that don’t involve removing free plastic bags from stores altogether. It is retraining some checkers to put more items in each sack, for instance, and is considering switching to thinner bags that contain less plastic,” Neufeld said.
